The Roses of the Los Angeles Arboretum

BAGSC Exhibition in 2025

Join us in exploring the Rose Garden at the Los Angeles County Arborteum & Botanic Garden as the Botanical Artists Guild of Southern California depicts roses for an Exhibition in the Arboretum Library in early 2025.

The Rose Garden at the Arboretum has more than 70 species of roses. This group show of BAGSC members and other artists in 2025 will focus on the beauty of roses, and be displayed in the LA Arboretum Library. Details for the Arboretum's 'Celebration of Roses' are being determined and will be announced soon.

Your rose selection(s) should come from the downloadable inventory list, or from any rose you find growing (and labeled) at The Arboretum. Browse our gallery of Arboretum rose images below and on the following pages, and/or visit the LA Arboretum to see their beauty in person. The winter months are not rose season for blooms, of course, but The Arboretum is interested in the entire life cycle of the rose, including buds, flowers, wilting flowers, bare root, and rose hips.

To download a PDF of the full list of roses shown below, click here. When looking through our online gallery, use the BIG green button at the bottom of each page to continue, or use the "Exhibitions" drop down menu to navigate to each page of rose photos. Use your browser's "back" arrow or the "Exhibitions" drop down to navigate back to the preceding pages.

All photos of the roses on the website were taken by Diane and Jack Daly. Look through the photos to determine which you may want to visit in person at The Arboretum. Right click on the photo (Windows) or control-click (Mac) and choose "Open image in new tab" to view a complete, full-sized image.

Diane and Jack also have generously offered any of the images to be used for reference or for your artwork.

More information about the exhibition is coming, including exact dates for the exhibit and due dates for the finished paintings. Watch your email and the website—we'll be updating with more information and images as it comes in.

Reminder: while visiting the Garden, do not clip any flowers or leaves.
