About the Event

Spring into our first members only event of 2024! All BAGSC members are cordially invited to our Spring Quarterly Meeting online, Saturday, March 9 at 9:30 am Pacific Time.

After a brief business meeting, we are pleased to introduce our guest speaker, Anna Kaye. In her Denver studio, Anna creates drawings and paintings that are inspired by the natural world. Her forest series features stunning charcoal portraits of trees, flora and fauna. Anna teaches drawing at the Denver Art Museum and Denver Botanic Gardens, and will offer a charcoal drawing demonstration on a protea that is adapted to fire.

Anna earned her B.S. in geology and fine art at Skidmore College, NY, then continued her arts education at Yale, where she focused on painting, drawing, printmaking and photography. She earned her M.F.A. at Washington University in St. Louis. Her artwork is in private, public and museum collections around the world, and she organizes large-scale exhibitions that promote social action and connectivity, donating a percentage of sales to environmental funds. Click here to view current work on her website.

To attend this meeting with Anna Kaye's demonstration, you must be a BAGSC member and RSVP for the meeting. RSVP by clicking the button and filling out the online form. Members who RSVP will receive a link to the recording of Anna Kaye's presentation and demo, which will be available for unlimited viewing for two weeks following the meeting. Members who attend live will be able to ask questions of Anna.

This is a wonderful opportunity to explore beyond traditional botanical art and contemplate a wider view of nature.
