Workshop Description

This class will combine pen and ink techniques with a botanical lesson on Aristolochias, an unusual plant group. The distinctive flowers and fruits of this group often have bizarre forms, making them wonderful subjects for botanical art. After learning about the diagnostic and special characters of Aristolochias, students will work towards producing a detailed scientific illustration in pen and ink. Students will have the opportunity to explore various pen techniques to create shading and texturing. Methods of preparing sketches, transfer to final paper and inking will be covered.

This is a BAGSC-sponsored workshop; there is no information about this workshop on The Arboretum's website. If you have questions, or need additional information, please contact the BAGSC Education Chair.
